Metal Garden Bed Material and Rust Resistance

What materials are used for our metal garden beds, and how do we prevent rust?

Leading Corrosion Resistant, AZM Coated Steel:
Garden In Minutes® metal garden beds are made of a highly corrosion-resistant, steel substrate coated in a specialized layer of Zinc, Aluminum (Aluzinc), and Magnesium - we call this our AZM coating for short. While Aluzinc alone is quite impervious and used for many metal garden bed brands, adding Magnesium enhances our garden bed metal’s ability to resist corrosion, especially on exposed edges and areas. The Zinc and Magnesium work together to form a protective film, sealing any exposed steel and protecting it from rust and corrosion.

USDA-Certified Paint:
All of our metal garden beds are finished in USDA-certified, food-safe paint.

Food-Safe Hardware:
All of our hardware is food contact safe, stainless steel hardware.

Our Metal Raised Garden Beds have shown in tests to perform wonderfully in high heat and high humidity conditions. We're located in Florida, which is super hot and humid. Here's a video where we test our garden beds in the hot, Florida summer. In short, our metal garden beds are made from the leading materials available for metal garden beds, have leading corrosion-resistant, use food-safe paint and hardware, and
they perform beautifully in any climate!
